Full Stack Web Application Development

What We Do

Web Apps are What We Do

Modern Web apps have changed.

They're now rich, complex, sophisticated applications that can do anything a native application can do. They must synchronize, orchestrate and stream data from multiple sources; filter, sort and render it in a beautifully presented, rich user interface; and do it all securely with near-native performance, optimised for any device and to any user, human or robot.

To build such sophisticated Web apps demands the highest skills in software development.

You want all this this in your Web app?

You need Codernetic.

Some Examples of

Web Apps We've Built

Internet Of Things

A fully interactive app for controlling dozens of different IoT devices. Automatically recognizes new devices coming online, provides full control over existing devices, and enables device customisation and upgrading, all from the browser.

Space Data

Rich Web app for querying, sorting and filtering large amounts of geo-spatial data produced by satellites from across Europe. Enforces complex role-based access to different data according to user credentials.

TV Player

A TV player app, complete with week-long programme guide, more facts about the stars and programmes than you knew existed, and capable of handling 10 million simultaneous eager viewers.

    Sky Go

Sky's version of the BBC iPlayer, providing full access to Sky's programmes through the Web.

    Project Details

Developed using AngularJS on the front-end and various NodeJS microservices communicating with corporate servers on the backend. The app had to provide full programme guide listings for over 70 channels across 7 days, lazy loading the data as required, and coping with complex date handling when programmes crossed over significant time and date boundaries (e.g. midnight, time zone change, new year, leap year, etc.)

    BBC News

One of the World's most-visited Web sites

    Project Details

Codernetic helped create the BBC's News Stream feature, which provides rolling news as it happens for important stories. The project was developed using PHP and the Zend Framework, and had to support 12 browsers (including Opera Mini and Firefoz Mobile) and 87 languages. Every line of PHP had to be performant, and every line of HTML and CSS had to be written to tight constraints of responsiveness, strict brand-compliance, and accessibilty.

    Hive

Control your home from your Web browser

    Project Details

Hive's mission is to make every element of your home smart. A smart home needs a smart way of coontrolling it, and so we helped them build a Web app that lets the user control and manage all of their smart devices, from thermostats to motion sensors, smart plugs to smart light bulbs. To control the whole ecosystem requires complex orchestration of API calls, sophisticated state management through a normalised Redux data store, and performant rendering using optimized React components.

Codernetic helped them develop this feature by writing AngularJS code that followed best practice, and mentoring other membesrs of the team on how to transition from jQuery to AngularJS.
